We’re building the products of the future today. On our three-year apprenticeship you’ll get involved with building our new and current products and develop the knowledge and skills to become a JCB Technician.
There are different paths that you can take while you’re working towards a Level 3 Engineering and Manufacturing Support Technician Apprenticeship qualification depending on which area interests you. Typical routes include Machining, Quality, Materials Planning, Toolroom, XP or Development.
In your first year you’ll spend four days each week at The JCB Academy and one in your allocated area of the business, followed by one day at the Academy and four in the business in the second year. Before spending your full working week in the business unit during the final year.
While you’re working towards your Level 3 Engineering and Manufacturing Support Technician Apprenticeship, you’ll be doing a real job which matters to our business. You’ll work for a company which will support you as you progress your career, offering you opportunities to diversify into specialist roles or apply to travel around the world to support new and exciting products.
You’ll get training with the JCB Academy and academic support to help you get everything you can from the experience. Then once you qualify you’ll have lots of real business experience under your belt plus the understanding of how your role contributes to the business as a whole.
We’re looking for someone with GCSEs in Maths and English at grade C/4 or above. Dedication, passion and a real desire to succeed are a given - you’ll need strong problem-solving, critical-thinking and communication skills. You’ll be a great team player able to work as part of a high-performing team and confident to work on your own. It’s a fast-paced environment so you’ll need to have a can-do attitude and relish a challenge.
