Our Welding Apprenticeship gives you direct access to the best in the business. You’ll start by spending 17-19 weeks full time at The JCB Academy, our dedicated training facility. Then the rest of the 14-month programme will be a full-time placement in one of our business units.
You’ll learn how we position, prepare and check welding equipment. How we handle and maintain consumables and prepare areas for welding. How we rigorously test everything and assess the quality of our work. And all to world-leading JCB standards. It’s a practical, hands on programme where you’ll develop the skills you need for a career in welding.

We’re looking for someone with GCSEs including Maths and English at D/3 or above. Your hand-eye coordination will be as good as your attention to detail. It’s important that you’re a good fit for our business - we need people who are motivated, willing to learn and completely dedicated. You’ll experience problems and challenges on your training programme but it’s how you learn from them and move forward that matters.
